Installing ShopThePost.

A clean installation workflow for both editions, including the additional license step required by ShopThePost Pro.

Before installation

Prepare WordPress first.

  • Confirm WordPress 6.0+ and PHP 7.4+.
  • Create a current site backup.
  • Keep the downloaded plugin as a ZIP file.
  • If you plan to tag store products, confirm WooCommerce is active.
  • Use a WordPress account permitted to install plugins.

Free installation

Install ShopThePost Free.

Download the Free ZIP

Complete the CreateFor.Me Free download flow and save the plugin ZIP to your computer.

Open Plugins

In WordPress Admin go to Plugins → Add New Plugin → Upload Plugin.

Upload the ZIP

Select the ShopThePost ZIP. Do not unzip the package before using WordPress’s plugin uploader.

Install and activate

Click Install Now and then Activate Plugin.

Open ShopThePost

Use the ShopThePost admin area to create content and review Settings & Shortcodes.

Pro installation

Install and activate ShopThePost Pro.

Install the Pro ZIP through the same WordPress plugin uploader. ShopThePost Pro uses Freemius for license activation and premium update infrastructure.

Install the Pro ZIP

Plugins → Add New Plugin → Upload Plugin → Install Now.

Activate ShopThePost Pro

Activate the installed Pro plugin in WordPress.

Complete license activation

Follow the Freemius license activation flow shown by the plugin.

Verify Pro access

Open ShopThePost settings and confirm the premium controls are available.

Existing ShopThePost content

The Pro transition is designed to preserve existing ShopThePost posts and stored plugin data rather than requiring you to rebuild the feed.

After installation

Run a quick setup check.

  • Create one test shoppable post.
  • Add one image or video.
  • Attach at least one product tag.
  • Publish the post.
  • Place

  • Check the page on desktop and mobile.
  • If you use caching/minification, clear those caches after activation.

Updates

Keep the plugin current.

Pro includes Freemius-based update infrastructure. As with any WordPress software, create a backup before significant updates and test important storefront functionality after updating.
